(January 2003 – February 2004) Senior Petroleum Engineer
Perform well analyses, field studies and economic valuations in numerous basins of the United States. Provide initial project appraisal and well test analysis for new field development offshore Greece. Teach industry courses in Applied Reservoir Engineering, Gas Reservoir Management and Reservoir Engineering for Other Disciplines
SI INTERNATIONAL, INC. Petroleum Division, Bakersfield, CA, and Denver, CO:
(1994 – 2003) Vice President
Managed staff of approximately 35 professionals with offices in Denver, Colorado and Bakersfield, California performing multidisciplinary reservoir characterization and engineering work (geophysical design and interpretation, petrophysics, structural and stratigraphic geologic studies, 3D geologic/geostatistical modeling, reservoir engineering and simulation). Worked with Corporate Management and Marketing/Sales staffs regarding administrative, budget and business development issues. Constructed business case for establishing Houston office and Latin American operations group, recruited and supported key personnel for same. Continue to support project management efforts and provide technical review for Equity Finalization support services contract for U.S. Department of Energy, Naval Petroleum Reserve No. 1 (Elk Hills Field).
JERRY R. BERGESON & ASSOCIATES / INTERA
(1980 – 1994)
Vice President, Reservoir Engineering U.S. (1993-1994), Denver, Colorado
Advisor to Project Managers of major contracts, including PEMEX, GRI, DOE
Vice President, California Operations (1990-1993), Bakersfield, California
Technical and administrative manager of a Bergeson/INTERA contract for the U.S. Department of Energy providing technical support services to the Naval Petroleum Reserve No. 1 (Elk Hills Field). Contract projects included assessment of current operations and evaluation of alternative depletion scenarios in a variety of reservoirs undergoing depletion by solution gas drive, waterflooding, gas expansion, gas cycling, gravity drainage, and steamflooding. Initiated and served as project manager for large equity redetermination studies at Elk Hills.
Senior Reservoir Engineer (1980-1990), Denver, Colorado
Conducted reserve appraisals in nearly all major U. S. producing regions. Performed technical studies to determine in-place hydrocarbons and appropriate reservoir exploitation strategies, including feasibility of waterflooding and other IOR options. Evaluated unitization and pooling requirements and presented testimony regarding same before oil and gas commissions in Colorado and North Dakota. In 1988, designed, recruited, and mobilized a multidisciplinary team of 50 professionals to perform a comprehensive analysis of in-place hydrocarbons and reserves for the multibillion barrel Elk Hills Field, California.
NORTHERN NATURAL GAS COMPANY, Denver, Colorado:
(1977 – 1980) Reservoir Engineer
Designed, implemented, and analyzed well test programs to evaluate reserve potential of large off-system acreage positions in Rocky Mountains and North Texas. Constructed 3D simulation model of Prudhoe Bay to study impact of various depletion scenarios on gas recovery. Evaluated gas reserves and deliverability for new wells and supervised annual reserve and deliverability testing for all wells in all Mid-Continent producing areas tied to Northern’s gathering system.
TENNECO OIL COMPANY, Bakersfield, California:
(1976 – 1977) Production Engineer
Designed and supervised new installations including gas compressors, hydraulic pumping equipment, pipelines, and water filtering facilities. Designed and coordinated well completion and work over activities in deep multi-sand reservoirs and shallow thermal properties.
